Dorothy started painting and drawing at an early age. During her professional years she enjoyed teaching Art to young children at various schools in the Sydney area.
Impressionism had a great influence on Dorothy's work. The preferred medium is oils, and occasionally, acrylics. She believes that composition plays a vital part in the success of a painting.

Ruth Gilligan |

Ruth Gilligan's art career began after she suffered a long illness in 1976. Attending art classes at Kogarah Technical College was the first step in the learning process toward a positive and creative outcome in her artistic career.
Concentrating full-time on art when she moved to the Central Coast, Ruth continued to attend classes run by professional artists. She was greatley influenced by the works of past Impressionists.

Meg Hocking |

Meg Hocking spent her working years as a teacher. On retirement Meg was able to turn to painting on a full time basis. Experimenting with different mediums, Meg at first painted in pastels and oils. She attended many workshops and was tutored by professional artists. It was at these workshops that Meg discovered her preference for watercolour. She stayed with this medium, perfecting her technique and brushwork. |

Kathy is a resident of the Central coast and a member of the Bateau bay Artists. She takes great joy and inspiration from the natural environment around her. The beauty of the coastline and in particular "Pelicans" are inspirational for many of her works. Kathy also paints beautiful studies of flowers and the local wildlife. Portraiture is another one of her talents. |
